I apologize for posting so late about the new year. I had just recently got a new keyboard. My old keyboard had water spilled all over it thanks to my niece.
During New Year's Eve, I drank a lot and played more black jack with the family. We ate lots of great foods and the next day my sister had us over for some hangover Pho.
It was great to take a break from the blog and competitive gaming in general. I feel refreshed and relaxed.
As for the new year and what's to come, I know exactly what I want. I want to compete and win.
I've recently taken the liberty to read up on some of Michael Jordan's accomplishments. He didn't become successful until several years later.
I grew up watching Michael Jordan win his 5th and 6th Championship ring. For such an iconic athlete to become successful after years of failing inspired me so much.
For me, I know success won't come overnight. It comes from hard work, dedication, and support from your family and friends.
Sticking with Ryu in AE gave me great hopes in AE v.2012. I had the impression that sticking with Ryu would make me a better player considering his nerfs.
I'm confident in myself to perform, but it's time to see if all my efforts will pay off. :)

Hi Samurai,
ReplyDeleteI was in the Versus the other day in a MMU. The computer did a FBxxSU before making contact with me like he could do in Vanilla. I tried to do it myself that day but I couldn't figure out the timing because it doesn't seem to work like it did in Vanilla. I just did it by mistake in training and figured out how to do it on purpose. I don't know if you found out how to do this yet. It seems to be one of the undocumented changes. It can be done so far as I've tested using MPSU from a LPFB 1sq. away. You said " I had the impression that sticking with Ryu would make me a better player considering his nerfs." Well, I think I found one of his buffs. Please let me know if you've got it to work for you yet.
Hi Samurai,
DeleteI was told by a veteran poster to the SRK forums that what I haven't seen done since Vanilla and mentioned to you here has been available for use since Chocolate in the way I described. I'm getting used to doing it on the first try and I've tested it in Chocolate as well which worked for me there too.
@KaizenMaster - I'm not exactly sure what you mean. Do you mean canceling a fireball into a super off of low forward? I've never really had trouble doing that. But it seems your way could be a good way to do it as well. :)
DeleteHi Samurai,
DeleteAir Ryu doesn't understand as well. I've uploaded a video which I'm trying to get onto EventHubs to help at least remind people that this has always been in the game since SSF4. You can see the video here...

@KaizenMaster - Ah now I know what you mean. It's the games speed I believe. You have to do it very fast or do it normally. This means you have to do a fireball motion then a super motion (making that 3 quarter circles, or 3 fireballs). I hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteHi Samurai,
DeleteYou are correct! When learning how to do it on purpose, I tried to do it as if in was in a combo doing FBxxFB but that wasn't working. I then tried FBxxFB(2x) and it worked. I didn't think about the concept of FB(3x) though. I like that concept. Thanks for your replies.
@KaizenMaster - You're very welcome. I'm glad I was able to help! :)
Delete@KaizenMaster - To be exact, you have to cancel the super in the earliest start-up frames of throwing the fireball.
ReplyDeletehi mike! Would you be able to do a in detail guide to footsies? I've managed to develop a very weak and gimmick based ryu purely from my lack of knowledge/confidence/ability when it comes to footsies. When i try play footsies in a mirror match or any other match i get creamed =(
ReplyDelete@tdksparda - Definitely! Once school is over for me I'll be able to post more often than usual. Keep an eye out for more posts though.
