MadCatz Daigo Umehara: Gouki or Ryu?

Will Daigo switch to Gouki or Ryu?

SSF4 AE 2012 - What tier is Ryu going to be in?

I'm not going to go over the changes on Ryu. I'm here to tell you guys where I feel Ryu will stand against the other characters. Now this is going to sound like a bit of a rant, but please bare with me here.

From what I've heard back in a Japanese stream - or maybe from a random Japanese commentator -  Ryu was placed top tier (in the low to mids). This meant he was in the top tier but placed lower in that specific tier compared to others. Now here's the interesting part.

Canada Cup: CCG.Detrimantix talks to me about sponsorship

Detrimantix (also known as David) and I talked about how he became sponsored under Canada Cup Gaming. It was really interesting to hear about what he had to say.

David mentioned that during a Canadian MVC3 event he had defeated Justin Wong. Of course, Justin Wong is a great Marvel player. With that being said, David created results against a well known player.

Later, David was approached by Air and was told Canada Cup Gaming needed players for Marvel. That's pretty much the gist of it.

Finally, David gave me a very interesting tip. Something that never really came to mind when attempting to be sponsored.

Canada Cup: EG.JustinWong Part 2 [FINAL]

It was interesting to talk to Justin Wong during Canada Cup. He was telling me that I could have made Top 3 in Marvel and that if I played Floe it would have been a good match.

Justin also said that I had potential, but that I lacked the ability to attend every event. I explained to him that it's pretty hard since I don't have a sponsor. I continued saying that the only support I have is my job and that it is very hard to travel with your own support.

It's always in the back of my head that traveling on my own money means I have to break even. Sometimes I don't want to think about that and would just like to compete. It also stresses results since breaking even means getting top 3 or top 8.

However, there was something Justin and I had talked about that really brought controversy to what I believed. After I had lost to Mago, I sat down and gave Justin his stick back.

Canada Cup: EG.JustinWong Part 1

It was the day before Canada Cup and the venue had just opened. Players were handed their dog tags and VIP passes were given. There were setups where money matches were held for both AE and MVC3.

As soon as I got there I saw who I wanted to play for quite some time. That person was Justin Wong himself. I've always wanted to play him in both AE and Marvel.

The last time I had played him was during ReveLAtions and I lost 0-2 quite quickly. I finally got to sit down with him and play a first to three.

The first set was like a shock to me. My idea was to play the match-up the way I had played against Ricky Ortiz. However, I was in for a quite surprise.
